We are the Closest "Motel and Breakfast" to the Magpie Reservoir!  

Bring your Boat and Motor and take a short drive to the Boat Launch. The Magpie Reservoir is 15 miles long, loaded with Walleye and Northern Pike. 

Wawa has numerous Live Bait shops, with fishing maps & info available. The Magpie Reservoir has always been our guest's favourite fishing spot, but the number of lakes with boat launches & fishing opportunities in the area are endless!

The Chalets are certainly the most sought after Accommodations for Fishermen, Hunters, and long term stays.  They are the largest Accommodations in the Area and Breakfast is Included! Ice is complimentary - more Freezer Space is supplied if you need it.  Each Chalet has a full size fridge with a freezer.  

Our Rooms are very large, (So large that we have triple rooms with 3 double beds), and have nice size Mini Fridges.  If you don't require a kitchen for your stay, you'll be more than happy with our rooms.

Heck, the fish are so big in the Magpie - Look what we use for bait!

Annual Wawa Salmon Derby (August)

The Wawa Salmon Derby is a two person event featuring $20,000 in cash and prizes. Taking place on Lake Superior in the Michipicoten Harbour area in late August, we'll be going after the salmon returning annually to spawn in the Michipicoten River. There is excellent Salmon and Lake Trout fishing and daily prizes for the largest fish. We also have entertainment Saturday night and a participant's meal Sunday post Derby. If fog is predicted to roll in, and they might need to get you out of Wawa and to the lodge a day earlier, we are happy to let you cancel at the last minute, without charges.

Last year we did that with a group that was supposed to stay in the chalet, and got a case of beer and a T-Shirt from Air Dale & The Fishermen! Whooooo. See? That was better than a Chalet Rental! lol!

Rick Dickson's Bear Management Area is in excess of 1 Million Acres surrounded by 3 Provincial Parks, 1 Federal Park and the Chapleau Game Preserve! There's a reason his hunters get so many bears and so many Trophys!

We do not have Moose Tags at the Northern Lights. You do need tags for the area to hunt out back.

SMALL GAME

 Partridge (Grouse) & Spruce Hen season opens September 15 and lasts till December 15th.  My brother Hutch, and my Dad hop on their ATV's and head out back.  They always return with a bunch of Birds!  Yeow! We look forward to Mom's fabulous Partridge Stew every fall  - YUMM!!)
