ATVing at the Northern Lights!
We don't have a "Signed ATV Trail System" in Wawa. You do not need permits to ride. But there's so much riding to be had!! Head out back on our trail to Henson Road. Miles upon miles of riding on Crown Land. Because there is no such thing as "ATV Trails" or "ATV Maps", A GPS is a necessity. My brother has mapped loops out back - he Moose hunts every October and has made a great map for ATVers. If you'd like an ATV guide for the Wawa area, Willy from The Bristol Motel knows the trails like the back of his hand, and will be happy to guide you. Price is approx $250 - $300 a day. Whoooooooooo Brendan!! Nice
ATV buddy!! GPS Units and Topographical maps are a necessity for the "Adventure Riders" We also have a nice ATV Trail to town! It follows the highway, over rock cuts, then onto an old Railway Bed. The tracks are removed, but the trestle across the Michipicoten River is still there. (This is the route the Sledders love to take to and from town.) The ATVers staying here are making big Day Loops from here - to town - through the Badlands and then onto the Snowmobile trail that takes them back to the Northern Lights!
Kevin Wright sent some Great ATV pics! They are taken around Halfway Haven. He says the Boat Picture is a "Long Story" lol! Here's some info from Sasquatch about riding out back! Thanks! You are in a perfect spot to sell ATV riding, You have a ton of trails right at your back door. I wouldn't print maps though, tell them to use topo's and or GPS units. Maybe you would want to keep topo maps for sale at the motel. Some of, what is snowmobile trail would be rugged but I know there is ATV tracks through from the Henson road to the Belanger road and from Belanger over to McCormick Lake. So that is trail 3 to 7 and 7 to hwy 17. That hooks you up to the Old Magpie road (Tea Lake). So that should mean you are hooked up to Dubreuilville. There is a lot of other roads as well, when the water is low they should be able to cross the Dore River and ride up to Jimmy Cash and the paint lake road.
